Prenatal Care at The Birth Center of New Jersey

At The Birth Center of New Jersey, we offer an innovative approach to prenatal care that combines your regular checkups with support and education. We partner with our clients and put them in charge of their care.

We empower our clients through education, free choice, and informative guidance that allows them to be self-determinant in their reproductive and birthing choices.

How often am I seen for Prenatal Care?

Appoint frequency varies depending on your trimester. For the first trimester, appointments are scheduled monthly, then for the second trimester, appointments are made every two weeks. Finally, 36 weeks to birth, we see you every week.

This schedule is flexible, and we may require additional visits with some clients.

Appointments usually last from 15 to 30 minutes, sometimes going up to 45 minutes. Really, this is based on how much time you desire to talk and ask questions surrounding pregnancy, labor, and birth. You will never feel rushed here.

What does an appointment include?

Appointments include a general history and examination, along with essential imaging and lab tests to make sure you’re healthy in your pregnancy.

We may draw labs to check for:

At every appointment, we take the time to answer your questions, to keep you informed about your pregnancy and allow you to address any concerns.

Please know that we prioritize building a rapport with our patients so we can be supportive and build a home-like environment for you. Ensuring your safety and progress throughout your pregnancy is our top priority and we’ll be happy to do everything we can to enable that.
