What should I bring with me for labor?
If you are nearing the end of your pregnancy, you might be starting to think about packing your birth bag! If you don’t know where to start, let us help you!
What should you bring for labor?
You can bring anything comforting to you! Commonly, people like to set up the birth suite how they want to make it more home-like. This can mean bringing your favorite blanket, a bluetooth speaker, or even aromatherapy oils.
Apart from that, we recommend bringing a few essentials for things you might need with you.
For you:
- Comfortable clothes: make sure you pack something light and easy to wear for after birth
- Toiletries: you might want to freshen up later so bringing along your skincare or other stuff you use can be a good idea
- Your birth plan: if it’s in a written or printed format, bringing it with you can help
- Snacks and drinks: labor lasts for a while. We allow you to eat and drink as needed, so bring your favorite mild snacks
For baby:
- A car seat: you will need a car seat to take your baby home, so it’s best to come with it already installed in your car
- Your pediatrician’s contact information: in case we need to contact them, it’s good to have their info with you
- Coming home outfit: your baby will need their first outfit (and you will want to snap some photos of them in it, of course)
We provide all necessary equipment for labor and birth. Focus on bringing what’s helpful to you! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us!
